november 10 - november 13

the ferry started at 12:30 and we had an unbelievable 1,5h-hours boat tour through an extraordinary landscape. after a 6 kilometer biketrip, we passed the border to argentina and found a nice campground in lanin national park, directly at lake pirihueico. water was goddamn cold, so swimming was not the best choice.
we awoke at night, cos it was absolutely quiet. next morning the sound of all the unknown birds around us wake us up. hooting and tooting, like being in the tropics. sun was shining and we were heading to san martin de los andes. and los andes means los andes. mountaineering over a really itching pass on gravel roads, of course, leads us to the city. the scenery during the trip was amazing and eva got used to cycle the mountains. arriving at san martin we checked out the prices for accomodations and a firstclass cabana was cheaper than a place for three cyclists at the hostel. we had a real argentinean steak for supper, and it was the best piece of meat, we ever had. best of all, argentina is half pricy than chile, so we can save some money.
we left san martin to go to barriloche and it was a biketrip of its own. we cykled through a landscape, not from this world. it is not to describe, you have to see it! we found another (free!) campground at lake falkner and had company of hundred of sheeps next morning. great day!
